There is no such thing as “quality” time. On my desk, I keep a medallion that says Tempus Fugit (”time flies”) on the front and “all time is quality time” on the back, so I think about Seinfeld’s concept of quality time vs. garbage time every day.
The collapse of OpenAI should have a similar impact on talent as Lehman Brothers in 2008:
Just about anyone who’s worked on Wall Street, has worked with someone that was at Lehman.
Lehman Collapsed, in part, because of bad decisions by people at the top.
However, the vast majority of the Lehman bankers were smart people.
Just at the wrong place at the wrong time.
After the collapse, this talent was distributed to other banks on Wall Street, adding talent everywhere.
The collapse of OpenAI is going to have a similar effect.
Some of the smartest AI engineers in the world will move all across Silicon Valley.
The result will be even faster advancement of AI and more competition.
This is AI’s Lehman moment.
JUST IN: Walmart, $WMT, falls 8% as CFO says October trends have made them "pause and rethink the health of the consumer."
More specifically, Walmart said they saw a sharp falloff in sales during the last 2 weeks of October.
Management said there is still strain on the consumer and they are more cautious than they were 3 months ago.
Even as the rate of inflation falls toward 3%, we are still seeing INFLATION.
Prices are building on multiple years of already high inflation.
Retail remains a key indicator of the economy.

(2,9% interanual). La elevada dependencia del #consumo de bienes duraderos, en ausencia del empuje de la inversión, apoyan el escenario de moderación.
