There are plenty of places with security checkpoints other than TSA where you consent to potentially being searched. - and it’s not a home search. I don’t drive and fly when I need to. Not a permanent power over private life as you’re in public when the search would be conducted and it could create a way to find ghost guns. I think Seattle needs to draw from places like El Paso and apply border control logic.
You need to be able to create circumstances. Slippery slope is a repeated argument. You’re repeating terms like privacy. Let’s hear you come up with circumstances that require people to act in certain ways. I don’t care for the emotions and trying to define implications that don’t make empirical sense in a timeline of events. The bickering has lead to a stagnation of political discourse and progress. Saying (not an argument) while I’m arguing points is a reply out of ego.
I definitely appreciate the take and the healthy conversation. Considering those situations has got me thinking about it. My perspective is coming from someone who has never held a real gun in their hands before, who will pass everything on a drug test who just wants to go about their day. I do not want to be considered as a lethal threat in a confrontation. It’s very nuanced.
I see it, am listening and am brainstorming. Reliance vs independence and how to figure that out for niche situations is tough and those ppl have a right to defend themselves. I definitely think some way to subdue your enemy is the best solution. I would think a blinding method would be better like pepper spray to the eyes. I think this is a bit of a trap to create a scenario where it’s impossible to do anything other than shoot a gun to defend yourself in a very niche situation. Someone like that needs a pathway to create physical space and an exit strategy.
This is a very niche situation and would a rubber bullet be enough? A co2 net gun? You need to aim a gun just right as well. Thank you for your service and I’ve had family members in the military. I want to try to figure out a solution for niche situations and understand where you’re coming from.
@NickyRuby5@anderk001@GovBobFerguson So let’s hear something useful other than an egomaniacal emotional projection and a repeated opinion you saw online.
@NickyRuby5@RealPolitiksX@GovBobFerguson Do you have anything real or constructive to say other than “ur dum” bc if not ur a waste of space and ur thoughts aren’t relevant or useful to anyone. I have no patience for emotional outbursts. Let’s hear a take other than a repeated opinion you saw online.
I see that take and agree with you on that. Proper sentencing needs to happen most definitely. I see why responsible gun owners are getting offended who haven’t done anything wrong.
The context of my take is from someone who has never held a real gun in their hands before. My line of self defense is a blinding flashlight, pepper spray to the eyes and fleeing. I don’t carry lethal weapons, in a policing situation or any other confrontation I cannot be designated as a lethal threat.
I don’t think searches for ghost/illicit guns in the same way TSA creates a police state say at a toll booth.
Sorry I wasn’t just trying to blame legal gun owners by wanting heavier gun restrictions but that’s how you’re taking it. My point was about finding ways in general to restrict access. I think there are other avenues of self defense.
In a police situation I am no violent threat as someone who would be carrying a very bright flashlight and pepper spray to the eyes and fleeing. That’s how I defend myself. I don’t carry lethal weapons.
The point of the quoted text is to highlight racism that people don’t want to acknowledge which leads to emotional outbursts imo.
I have never operated a gun, and have no gun experience. Have never held a real one in my hands before. I wouldn’t have a problem with military presence of people who are trained. I do not think I would have any personal risk as someone who will pass everything on a drug test who is an American citizen just going about their day.
I could accept being wrong about this potentially. I see the point. However in a policing standpoint, I am not a potential as a violent threat. These situations are very nuanced.
@ndnguyd@tjcrepeau@GovBobFerguson I think that should happen and could with the advent of autonomous vehicles. Self driving cars only interacting with self driving cars are the future imo.
Accessibility is how people navigate society, licensing doesn’t matter, I see the take on restrictions on responsible gun owners - however I don’t think a society with guns at the civilian level makes sense.
I was just in El Paso and my Lyft drivers were saying they thought the military is why it was safer. Apply border control tactics everywhere.
States with low gun control are mostly white. In WA it’s 5-6% black and ~25% of them commit violent crimes. We can’t just apply Norway’s safety ideals. Racist history imo and corruption is enabling light sentencing. We also need tougher policing.
In Seattle, treating situations like a civil man to man conflict makes it 1000x more dangerous with drug decriminalization as well as squatting laws. The police will not show up if a homeless guy is in living in the dumpster out back which I have personally dealt with. Nobody pays for the bus and it’s anything goes.
Treat the state and city like how border control is operated and you’ll see better safety. Toll booths out of ghost gun checks may be a little inconvenient but might be necessary.
@NilesRodley I completely am hiding under my bed and want protection. Accessibility is how people make their choices and navigate society. I want the military in Seattle. Cmon Trump! Send in the military! Let’s do it!!!
Permit to have a public party, block off the street, require barriers that will total the car, and maybe require distancing between the party and the barriers of 50ft or some secured distance while still allowing a way for emergency services to be able to enter.
Accessibility determines how people navigate society.
Not the point. Patriots like you can support the economy at a hunting lodge or gun range.
Applying border control security logic everywhere is how to maintain safety. My Lyft drivers in El Paso say it’s safe there out of military presence.
Access is access, states with low gun leniency are mostly white in demographics.
@ant_trauma_cop@GovBobFerguson Lyft drivers in El Paso say the city is safe out of military presence. Apply border control logic everywhere & you’ll have better safety. Civilians owning weapons are no match for the US military.
@katrains65@GovBobFerguson Patriot, you can support the economy at the shooting range or hunting lodge.
