Banned from hospital accommodation! I live a 75 mile drive from my current hospital. How are these companies able to just remove your access as a trainee from a safe place to rest after long days or nights and finish it with a Kind Regards?!
@VictoriaAtkins why is a band 2 clinical support worker having to go through this ? Do you have to pay to go to work ? Aren’t you ashamed that band 2 healthcare workers are earning minimum wage ?
A reminder - someone with sickle cell disease cannot be diagnosed with diabetes using glycated haemoglobin or HbA1c. 🧵
The ‘A’ in HbA1c denotes HbA and people with sickle cell disease don’t make HbA they only make HbS.
Now if you send an HbA1c sample to the lab anyway you may or may not get a result back…

NHS England is rolling back its mental health support for NHS hospital staff. No new patients will be accepted....given the parlous state of services and how some staff can be broken by their work this seems a backwards step.
Breaking/
Appalling news that @DHSCgovuk has decided to stop funding mental health services for hospital doctors from
Monday.
When I was broken & traumatised during Covid, sessions with an @NHSPracHealth psychologist helped me back on my feet.
How can the govt suspend this?
Received a phone referral for a speciality review. Referrer didn't introduce who they were until I asked then sounded offended, hasn't seen the patient, couldn't tell me what the concern was but demanded me to come see the patient immediately. I said I'm afraid I need a better referral...but interrupted with "So you aren't coming to see the patient then? OK just so you know I'm datixing you." Hung up. No the details given.
My senior colleague sat next to me heard the conversation andwas absolute HORRIFIED by the way I was spoken to but said they also experienced it.
Do you think this is an acceptable way to speak to anyone? Do people actually speak to people like this outside of the NHS?
King's Majora Trauma Centre serves south London, Kent and Medway. 3 locum trauma surgeons have been cut to save cash leaving just 2 trauma surgeons on a 24/7 rota and staff tell me they fear it is unsafe.
My perspective on AAs; a 🧵
I was an ANP before medical school and am now a specialty doctor in anaesthetics.
I work with 2 qualified AAs who are excellent,
I am often asked for my opinion given my background, so here it is a long thread including my own story.
