Am watching "People just do nothing" through for the second time. It still comes across as a work of comic genius. I'm 83, but the comedy of these young men and women spans the decades. It strikes me that a new series, set during the "covid months" could be hilarious.
#bbcnewscast Hello. I have just returned home after 5 days in hospital. Not covid. I am planning to write an article about my experiences. It will probably take me a week or so.
#peakyblinders I've just watched every episode of #peakyblinders. for the third time. I returned to UK in 2016 after many years abroad. In all that time it's the best thing I've seen on British tv by miles. Steven Knight is an absolute master of tv drama. Series 6? Hope so.
@bbcarts Many thanks BBC for carols, Uncle Vanya and the concert from Vienna in this bleakest of midwinters. Let's hope you'll be able to show The Rite of Spring with a live audience in a covid-free Britain.
@BBCDramaFans I've already expressed my admiration for "Dickensian," but would add I thought the idea of having Marley murdered, rather than just dead (as in CC) made for strong narrative glue & helped make Bucket the star of the piece; deliberate speech/pointed final consonants.
#Industrybbc Does anyone have the faintest idea what this so-called drama is all about? The actors either gabble or mumble and the background noise is deafening.
#SmallAxe Last night's broadcast of "Mangrove" had me glued to my chair., although more in horror than approval. My approval is reserved for the excellence of the production, acting, scene setting, diction and all. Congratulations to the BBC for giving us this drama.
#bbccricket Blimey! Ecclestone 4-9 in India. No wonder she's top of the rankings. - Velocity all out for 47? Dottin on song for Trailblazers. - I wonder who's going to win. lol.
@TheresaMayMP Well said. Whoever wins the White House MUST make sure that the USA re-joins the Paris Climate Accord. America should pay more attention to their Noam Chomsky and our David Attenborough.
@MichaelMorpurg0 Thoroughly enjoying your R4 series on the folk tradition. Takes me back to times spent with Bert Lloyd, Peter Bellamy Karl Denver et al. Hope you're going to devote one programme to the sea, fishing and sailing.
