🚨 BREAKING: half of people in the UK have lost access to community spaces - with families in the most deprived areas losing them fastest.
Parks, libraries, leisure centres are essential for our mental and physical health.
We all need places to connect. Especially when life is tough.

Panel is discussing the challenge of lack of time & space in schools and changing perceptions.
The BBC’s Head of Arts and Classical Music TV, @suzyklein, says there was a 34% increase in viewing and listening figures for last year’s Proms across iPlayer and Sounds. On social media, over 50 million views.
At the launch of this year’s @bbcproms, which features 17 BBC commissions and co-commissions, Controller @classicjacko says: “The BBC commissions more new music than any other organisation in the world”.
BBC staff are already under significant pressure after previous redundancy rounds … further cuts of this scale will inevitably damage its ability to deliver on its public mission. The government must ensure that charter renewal puts the BBC’s funding on a more secure pathway

Thank you for showing up for the BBC's unique role in UK arts and culture 💜
But especially given the systemic pressures on its funding model, the BBC’s own future must now be secured with ambition and principle from the UK Government.
