Zia Yusuf is the very last person with a leg to stand on calling out people for creating ‘hostility’ - he’s been doing that on steroids 24/7 towards political opponents for the last two years since he left his membership of the Conservative Party in August 2024.
Zia Yusuf now saying even if cost of round the clock security for all 650 MPs, and significant number previous MPs, exceeds £3 billion, he will still fund it. Setting aside wider issues, he's again underlining how Reform are not yet close to being a serious party of government.
Neither proportionate nor practical. Just the latest ‘look at me’ statement. Showing leadership to make our debate more respectful would do more. But that is a bit more difficult than running in front of the herd
‘I will ensure that all members of Parliament, from all parties, will be given round the clock protection.’
Reform UK’s Home Affairs Spokesperson Zia Yusuf explains what a Reform government would do to protect MPs, should they win the next election.
You elected an MP two years ago for a full Parliament. This election is taking place for no good reason than headline grabbing vanity. That is all you need to know
You're a voter in Clacton on 13 August. Your choice is Reform, or a man dressed as a bin. The established parties didn't bother to send you a candidate. You feel like they care about you so little they literally sent you a bloke dressed as a bin. That's all you need to know
1/ As someone who has been in a few murder trials let me just try to explain why the police always ask people not to speculate, (with the caveat that I understand everyone is justifiably angry, saddened and horrified).
Murder investigations and trials are very fragile things.
My @Daily_Express article: How dare @PeterTatchell brand Ann Widdecombe a bigot – she stood by me when it mattered.
Where were the gay rights campaigners when I was being persecuted? They weren't there but Ann was.
I denounced Operation Midland as a “homosexual witch-hunt”. I was accused of being a serial child murdering paedophile & was forced to declare: “I am a homosexual. I am not a murderer. I am not a paedophile.”
Not one LGBT charity even dared, & Tatchell was remarkably quiet.
Ann was always at the end of a telephone or an email whenever I needed her. She gave me private, public & practical support when it came at a personal & political cost.
That speaks for itself.
Thank you @MattNixson.

Sad to hear of the death of #AnnWiddecombe. After I proclaimed the Gospel at Sir David Amess’s funeral at Westminster Cathedral, she sent me a letter. It was a thoughtful gesture that reflected both her faith and her generosity. May God grant her eternal rest. Requiescat in pace.
Ann Widdecombe was a formidable politician who was never afraid to speak her mind and fought hard for what she believed.
Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones at this heartbreaking time.
Rest in peace, Ann.
I will accept Nigel Farage’s request to be appointed Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead.
It is a farce and a desperate distraction, and the people of Clacton deserve better.
But if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin, I won't stop him.
This is a completely unnecessary by-election - it’s about just one man.
So let him be the only candidate. Conservatives and Labour should only stand in a recall by-election.
Leave it to Farage, Restore and Count Binface
NEW: @KemiBadenoch has gatecrashed Andy Burnham's AMA to challenge him to hold a proper press conference and face real scrutiny from the press.
Andy Burnham is going to be the Prime Minister. It's time he started acting like one ⬇️
