Let’s talk about this.

It’s ironic that some look at the former world murder capital turned safest country on the continent, and the first question they ask is, “but what about the error rate?”

That’s a slap in the face of 6 million people who, for decades, were innocent prisoners in their own homes. It suggests that any margin of error invalidates the operation that brought them peace.

Nobody says El Salvador never makes erroneous arrests, and such errors must be corrected, which is what the justice system is for. Bukele himself has talked about this (see video below).

Of course they’ll complain about the justice system next, but where were those complaints back when judges were bribed or extorted by gangs to protect murderers?

If you believe that YES, El Salvador should arrest criminals, but NO, El Salvador is not allowed any margin of error, you are holding this country to a different standard than the rest of the world.

The hypocrisy of the Trump thuggery can be epitomized by a seditious rioter beating a police officer at the Capitol with an American flag. It was never about the flag, or “blue lives matter.” These were mere props in a movement fueled by power, injustice, and racism.
