@Jenny_1884 My dad doesn't touch his 4 weekly SRP as he is living off his occy pension which is £1200 per month. You cannot judge everyone the same. Some pensioners are poor yes but the vast majority are financially secure and comfortable.

@JackieDonati @MartinSLewis Council Tax is charged based the property and not a person. This aas one of the key factors when it changed from poll tax in 1993. I'm not sticking up for council tax on anyway shape or form , just explaining why you have to pay on empty properties.

@MartinSLewis I used to live in a 3 bed semi that was Band A... I downsized to a smaller 2 bed terraced that turned out to be Band B. I challenged it and they stuck saying , yes still a Band B. The whole system needs overhauling once and for all

@JulesAttard @SeeRedWoman1 @almurray Zinc and castor oil cream. Marvellous stuff - when my dear mum passed, I found a tub she bought from a local pharmacy with a 39p sticker on it from early 80s. I used it despite it being about 45 years old and it cleared up a nettle sting an absolute treat 🙂
