@donwinslow This is why iMatr no longer posts or supports X. It’s time to boycott this platform and return to civility and the greater good society and the townnsquare must aspire to.
@the_905er This is an interesting post. Councillor Jackson has been contacted countless times through the iMatr platform where he was given data on what verified constituents think, and was asked for his stance on issues. Crickets! No response. This is not how you build trust at City Hall.
@iMatrCanada Not sure why X is censoring this post? Thought they were about open dialogue and free speech? It’s restricted from appearing in the posted hashtags. Not cool at all.
Recognizing bold leadership in citizen engagement solutions. Councillors Mike Spadafora - #Hamilton, Dave Brunelle, #Tiny, Sharmila Seteram, Jamie Lee, - #Welland, Jennifer Kyle - County of #Brant, and Mayor Genevieve Lajoie, Casselman. #hamont#brantford#onpoli#ottawa#niagara
@Greenies1st Why not post this important issue on iMatr https://t.co/RbOqLfbaSN ? This will allow Canadians to weigh in and have their say, then either share their opinion or ask their elected official where they stand on the issue? Then see the Open Data, and also see which politicians care.
@iMatrCanada Speaking to educators who setup live streaming with judges, individual politicians, and city councils for students, I was shocked and saddened to learn Question Period in Parliament was off limits. Why? It was Canada’s dirty playground. Unacceptable behaviour on so many levels.
@gcrawfordHamOnt Get a grip people… the motion states.. at an annualized cost of 7 million for 40 units or 175,000 per unit for a tiny shelter. Kudos to the councillors who voted no. Heck, it would be cheaper to send them to an all-inclusive 5 star resort at 2500 per week x 52, for 130,000! Wow
@iMatrCanada Ministers of Education and School Boards need to incorporate innovative mobile phone learning technologies to improve student interest and participation in curriculum. Banning phones is the easy way out to researching and implementing state of the art learning into the future.
@iMatrCanada There’s often a disconnect in real time on what citizens need and what politicians plan. Like in this case, the aggressive immigration policy of the past, didn’t contemplate where people would live. Next, are roads and highways around the GTA. Traffic gridlock and getting worse.
@iMatrCanada For those citizens polled, at least they got a reply albeit impersonal and automated. I on the other hand have witnessed, and heard from others, that some don’t even reply. Are these the seeds to voter apathy?
@iMatrCanada In those cases cited in the poll, at least they got a response. I’ve witnessed personally and heard from others, some don’t even get the courtesy of a reply. Maybe the public should organize and publicly call these politicians out?
@iMatrCanada@OECD@OurCommons@abpoli Police aren’t elected while government is elected, controlled, and run by politicians … who historically are not high on the trust scale. Maybe if politicians can gain greater trust through transparency and accountability with constituents, trust in government may also improve.
@samjacksondog1@iMatrCanada Currently, yes. But the world is changing. There is a new breed of politician emerging that embraces innovation in public service. Are your elected representatives stuck in the past?
@iMatrCanada Great to see a relatable solution to get young people understanding civic education with their mobile phones. It’s about time these devices are used in the classroom for the benefit of the student, educators, and society.
