I think taste is a forecast. Everything we now call beautiful began as the *wrong* thing. The impressionists were lunatics for a decade, baroque literally meant bad taste for a hundred years

Taste is liking it an hour before everyone else likes the same thing. That's why taste is fluid and has an expiration date. It changes the moment it becomes consensus

This is precisely why I think human design is not dead. AI will hand you everything the world already agrees is good, but it can't want what the world does not want yet. It's betting on the tail of the distribution before it becomes the head
