1- CA has lost 2 major refineries.

2- CA compliant gasoline output has dropped 21%.

3- Drilling permits have fallen by over 90% (pre-SB 237.

4- Since SB 237, there have been 397 permits issued and 115 spuds drilled…only 6% of the total 2,000 potential.

5- CA in-state crude production has dropped by 39%.

6- CA imports of foreign oil as a % of total crude have increased from 58.4% to 61.1%.

7- CA AAA retail gasoline prices reached an all-time historical high of $6.44 a gallon.

8- CA gasoline imports reached record highs from late 2025 to the present.

9- CA state excise tax on gasoline has increased by 52%.

10- CA AAA retail gasoline prices have increased 39.8% (pre-Iranian situation).

11- CA AAA retail gasoline prices have increased 20.7% (since the Iranian situation).

12- CA cap-and-trade costs have ballooned by 80% ($0.15 to $0.27 approx.).

13- From 2019 to 2026 (today), CA AAA gasoline prices have increased 69%.

14- CA is the most dependent of all 50 states on foreign oil and gasoline, as well as imported jet fuel.
