Maria Taylor sat down with A.J. Brown ...
A LOT HERE:
- He has had a Patriots rug in his house for years now. that has always been his team.
- Still upset about the first Super Bowl. Felt they were never stopped by KC.
- Second Super Bowl, great team. Great teammates. Core helped everyone believed and wanted to leave no doubt. Felt it was the start of a potential dynasty.
- After SB59, expectations placed on themselves became too much. They started pressing. The team talked about it privately a lot.
- AJ admitted to some of the stuff he did publicly or on social media was wrong and takes that. He did feel within the locker room he handled things the right way.
- AJ said he used the media to try to propel the LR. To push the guys. Some things said publicly were with a purpose to motivate the group. "nothing I said was ever for personal gain. it was to help the team win."
- Last season didn't have a specific moment it was time to go, but after the season he felt like his time was up in Philly.
- Still processing what's happened and moving on and grieving over what ended. Took time to be alone and learn from the Philly experience.
- He gave his agent a green light to work his magic and get something done. He trusted him to get something done.
- Jalen Hurts relationship: not as close as we once were. no bad blood. I love him to death and want to see him accomplish everything he wants. We haven't been as close as people think for a couple of years now. We still led the team and pushed each other. Nothing but love for him at the end of the day. Nothing happened, people just grow apart. nothing between families or anything else.
- Patriots: Reaction was a dream come true. Kid in a candy store.
- Vrabel: he was tough on me. pushed me to be a great player. But he was so tough on me. Grew close over the years, even families.
- "Get open and catch the ball." - Vrabel's text to him when the deal was done and was same as Vrabel text to him when he was drafted.

If the rumors are true & AJ Brown will no longer be an Eagle soon, I’ll be sad…
Was there drama? Sure. Was he unbelievable? Absolutely. He’ll always be one of my favorite all-time Birds.
Try to watch a second of this 19 minute highlight & not smile. Impossible. Birds legend 🦅
@KeldonToKosovo I think they are better on paper and the AFC is the weakest it’s been in awhile but i’d still prob bet the field. I don’t think they are head and shoulders better than the other AFC contenders
I was hoping for the 2027 first cuz it is going to be a really good class & it’s unlikely NE returns to the Super Bowl but will be nice to have a 2028 first round pick.
Eagles are going to be hit with a huge bill in 2029 with all the voided years, so they need cheap contracts
I was hoping it could get worked out since he is still a really good WR & it will be hard to replace his production but he did want to be there and you wonder about his speed moving forward + how being so physical affects him as he gets older
I’m going to miss AJ Brown. He was my favorite player to watch, the best Eagles WR I’ve ever seen.
Even though he had been a pain for awhile, it’s a bummer it ended the way it did
