@WazzupDoc7@greendragonhq The tariff myth was made up later, the South was trampling all over state and federal laws to protect slavery, and attempts to expand slavery to western territories weren't working, increasing fears of its abolition. It all comes back to slavery. Do some actual research.
@WazzupDoc7@greendragonhq Yes. It was why the South rebelled, and making its abolition a priority was a good propaganda tool for the North, which was more focused on suppressing a rebellion--though Lincoln WAS anti-slavery, hence why the South rebelled after he got elected.
@brashua431973@Atownatx@WUTangKids And all modern Republicans defend the rebellion, the Lost Cause, Jim Crow, and slavery. You'd have joined the rebellion, as would all modern GOPs. And assuming you weren't killed during it, you'd have run away, pissing and shitting yourself all the while, traitor.
@TomC51667288492@actingliketommy@Gina660 Waving the flag around doesn't make you a patriot. Standing up for the Constitution does, and Republicans have NEVER done that.
@missy_0500@theRealGerardo@acnewsitics "She admitted it". Excuses from a howling bot for a pathetic coup attempt by a traitor. And who are you to use the word "patriot" since you aren't one?
@theRealGerardo@acnewsitics I label someone who makes excuses for a slaver's rebellion, or associates with someone who does that (i.e., Trump and all of his followers), while also pissing all over the Constitution to be "not American"--as well as J6 apologists. You're not an American.
@theRealGerardo@acnewsitics She had no authority to call the NG. She begged Trump to, but he refused. That you can't grasp that proves you're not an American.
@4pcdarkwitbeans@BarkeviousLib@acnewsitics NYT ain't liberal.
Having read more details, I can only wonder why the victim asked for this. She has no reason to be merciful to a man who destroyed her childhood.
I'll ask you this, though: would you care as much if he was white?
I can't say I entirely approve of what Tim Walz did today, but the victim explicitly asked him to do it. All I can say is I hope the pardoned man understands that his life was saved by someone whose childhood he destroyed.
