I’m extremely excited to announce that I have verbally committed to the University of Texas at Arlington to continue my academic and athletic career!

I have dreamed of this moment since I was 9 years old. Thank you to God, my family, coaches, teammates, teachers and everyone who has helped me along the way. I’m grateful for every person who has pushed me, coached me and believed in me.

A special thank you to Coach Trapasso and the entire @UTAMavsBSB staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to continue playing this game as a two-way player at the Division I level. I’m fired up for what’s ahead and ready to get to work.

Proud to be a Maverick!

Can’t forget my @MarionTx_FB football coaches! You guys have pushed me, challenged me, and helped me become a better athlete, teammate, and person. One thing I’ve learned being a multi-sport athlete is that the lessons learned on the gridiron carry over to the diamond. Appreciate everything you’ve done to help me get here! 🏈⚾️🤙

[Jackson Wells @JackWells27]

One of the biggest reasons I chose UTA was the opportunity to learn from these coaches. Can’t wait to get to work, keep developing, and be part of what they’re building! @UTAMavsBSB

And I can’t leave out my coaches at @baseball_marion and @stsliders. Wouldn’t be in this position without everything they’ve done for me along the way.

Not the outcome we wanted last night. Some good plays. Some opportunities to get better. Thankful for coaches that give up their Saturday to watch film and get position notes to us.

64 yd TD catch and run to get us on the board. @haydehamilton11 with the nice touch.

New week, back to work!!

After Friday’s lightning cancellation, we came back Saturday and battled through the heat and a 20–0 first-quarter deficit to earn a great team win. First over 4A Gonzales in 8 years. Proud of how everyone stayed together and did their job.

My first TD of the season. Offsides and PI declined 😎

Ready to keep the teamwork rolling tomorrow night at home opener.

Thank you for the scouting report, @gbillock. I really appreciate it. It was fun competing against a talented Twelve Cap City lineup. Games like that against a great team are why I love to compete. Still work to do!

Appreciate the highlight & write up from @Texas_PG. Thankful to all the scouts and coaches who took the time to watch our game today and other games this summer.

Good way to finish the summer on the mound. My @stsliders teammates make it easy to just go fill the zone.

6.2 IP | 2 H | 1 ER | 9 K | FB T88
Good mix of all 3 pitches to keep hitters off balance.

Was through 6.2, 1 hit, scoreless before the command started getting loose at 90+ pitches. Tried to stay out to help save some arms but hit the pitch limit and passed the ball to @KaseVacek to finish off the last out for a 3-2 win.

Jackson Wells (‘27, TX) delivered great strikeout stuff over 6+ innings featuring 9 punchouts. The fastball hovers in the mid 80’s and tops 88, big loopy 12-6 curve gets plenty of whiffs from that over-the-top slot. Also mixes in a changeup with some run vs lefties. Struggled with command at times but is loaded with potential. #SouthWS @PG_Uncommitted

2-3 with 2 RBIs also beat out a throw to 1B on day 1 of the @Texas_PG #SouthWS. Great team win today.

Thanks @Texas_PG for the highlight. It felt electric! Me and @MauricioLealJr combined for a 1 hit W in game 1 of pool play.

New FB PR of 89 and it came on the last pitch of the game for a whiff.

Jackson Wells (‘27, TX) showed off electric stuff over 3 shutout innings out of the ‘pen. Fastball sat mid-80’s and topped out at 89 and the 12-6 curve in the 69-71 range worked very effectively from the over-the-top arm slot. Also featured a changeup to lefties that got lots of swings and misses. Tall frame, the high release point, and top tier command over three pitches makes him very projectable. #StateChamp @PG_Uncommitted

A look back at a great few days at the @FiveTool #MattinglyWS. What a great event with over 100 college and pro scouts. Joined the team a few days late but was thankful to get back on the field and help us make a Sweet 16 run in the Mattingly Championship bracket.

On the mound (2 relief appearances):
4.1 IP | 1 H | 0 R | 6 K | 4 BB | 6 LOB | FB 83-85 CB: 69-70 CH: 73 | Appearance #2 to make the champions bracket: Pitcher of the Game

Entered both games trailing, but we locked down the other team and battled back to win both.

At the plate:
1-5 | 2B | 3 BB | 2 K | 1 R | 1 RBI
.500 OBP | .900 OPS

Not the week I wanted offensively, but the swing felt good and I hit several balls hard that just didn’t find grass. Was back in the cage Monday, trusting the process and looking forward to the next one.
