As you watch Canadian leader after leader do everything they can to fuck the relationship with the states, remember this: these are all very rich assholes who will never experience an ounce of what they're about to put you through.
I’m going to caveat what I’m about to say by stating I don’t give a shit about Pierre as a political figure.
But the inability of the Canadian media to hold the ruling party to account while constantly punching at the opposition who has NO actual political power is straight up propaganda.
You can tell Bloomberg isn't Canadian, and thus doesn't receive Mark Carney's massive media subsidy. Because this headline would be unthinkable for a government-funded journalist in Canada to write.
@VancouverPD $230 fine for sipping a beer but you can openly do fucking crack on the streets and harass tax paying citizens. Nice going VPD, doing a killer fuckin job 👌👌
"So we wasted 10 years and $200 billion dollars"
Every single Canadian worked almost an entire extra year to pay the income taxes the Liberals wasted on climate nonsense that divided the country and left us poorer and economically vulnerable to Trump.
Canadians: “Inflation crushed us. Interest rates sent our mortgage payments through the roof. Housing became unaffordable.”
Carney: “That’s the market.”
Vancouver developers: “We’re losing money.”
Carney: “Don’t worry. Taxpayers will bail you out.”
Canadians: “Wait… so we absorb our losses, but developers get bailed out?”
Make it make sense.
This country is a joke.
Every single Canadian should be up in arms over this. Even the full blown partisans.
The media won’t say shit, they won’t ask the hard questions.
Liberal voters will stay silent. But this is beyond disgusting.
There are two Canadas. There is the one the Boomers live in, where their homes are paid off, they go to their cottages, their homes have increased in value to insane levels. These people love Mark Carney. Then there is the rest of us, who are watching the entire system collapse.
The HOUSE ERUPTS
Liberal MP Wayne Long: "that Conservative Leader and House Leader questioning our Prime Minister's economic education and experience is like a third line beer league hockey player questioning Conor McGregor's hockey skills"
We'll tax you at between 50-70% of your income but we are granting you a 10 cent rebate. You see how kind and compassionate we are! Thank you PM @MarkJCarney for your infinite empathy.
Liberal boomers will spend their entire day bitching about Trump, and how bad America is, and expect you to agree with them...
And will lose their minds if you point out how bad of a dumpster fire Canada has become.
They're impossible to reason with.
340,000 monthly food bank visits. $2,500 rent for 600 sq. foot apartments. $1.5 million dollar homes. Unattainable housing. Family formation delayed or given up entirely. Violent crime skyrocketing. Public drug use everywhere.
But let's not be too negative, for Rick's sake.
The media is being disingenuous with Canadians.
This time pretending that Mark Carney earned his majority government tonight at the ballot box.
The truth is, these were already Liberal seats – two of them among the safest in the country (the previous Liberal MPs recently resigned).
Mark Carney’s real majority was obtained through backroom deals and floor crossings over the past 6 months. The first time in more than 150 years of Canadian history that a Prime Minister has sought the almost unlimited power of a majority government not through a mandate from voters, but through their very deception and deceit.
Counting on the individual weakness and duplicity of a handful of MPs to overturn the result of a democratic election and concentrate power that the Prime Minister may covet, but does not deserve.
The Liberals may consider this strategy to have been a success, but as the shine of their government, and Mark Carney, inevitably wears off, and the electorate realizes they are left with a different leader, but the same policies, as Justin Trudeau, voters may well resent the fact that in many ridings their vote will feel stolen, their voice silenced, and the verdict of Canada’s democracy, rejected and ignored.
