Japan's winter roads are hot! 🔥

Japan has a unique system of using sprinklers that spray warm underground water to melt the snow on the roads. This technology is brilliant and makes sense for Japan, as it avoids the use of salt or sand that could contaminate the rice paddy fields along the roads. The warm water comes from geothermal sources or solar-heated pipes, and it is effective in clearing large amounts of snow and ice. However, it may not work well in extremely cold temperatures or when there is too much snow accumulation.
