@OnTheBeachUK This is an appalling way to treat a family, particularly when they arrived to find their accommodation cancelled and were forced to incur additional costs simply to avoid being stranded abroad. “Keep the receipt” is not customer service, it is effectively telling the customer to solve your problem and deal with the financial consequences later.

@OntheBeachUK needs to take ownership of this immediately, establish what went wrong, and provide a clear resolution. A family of four, including two young children, should not be left carrying the financial and logistical burden of a failure in your booking arrangements.

This is incredible and should not be lost in all the other news. This person holds
one of the most senior jobs in government and he lied about saying this. He now apologises. 1. Saying it at all is a reflection on what this government think of the rest of this country. 2. Lying about saying it shows a total disregard for parliament and displays the cowardice of all bullies. 3. Then believing you can get away with it by suggesting you called a person not a place a shithole. WTF.
In the past this would end a career in shame - now he will just continue and will probably even run for leadership of the Tories at some point. If that doesn’t illustrate why the Conservatives are never going to fight for ordinary people are deprived areas nothing will.
