I used to think … that it wasn’t as involved. That it was a simple check in. Give support when a problem arises.
Now, I think … that mentors need to be proactive not reactive.

A5: Coercion happens everywhere Whether it be Karen in the restaurant that explodes in nuclear rage which leads the staff to either just give up or freak out which they either ignore her or give in to all of her requests This teaches that this behavior is acceptable #SDEReads

A4: Aggression is innate, but aggression is also learned. Celebrate the positive behaviors! We can model socially accepted behaviors by being consistent. We need to understand that the student learns their behaviors EVERYWHERE. We all need to be a positive example. #SDEReads

NEVER give up on that student. Continue making the effort to make it relatable for student. Through relatability, proper engagement, and relationships, the concepts can be taught. It might be a long journey, but we are here for the students. #SDEReads

@klowrey22 No throwing, but refusal to do anything. I kept trying to build relationship with student, and gradually she became receptive to my relationship attempts. Now, he is doing well, even getting praises from her teacher. Taught me to keep trying, even when frustrated. #SDEReads
