We assume we are conscious because we can react, speak, scroll, and survive. But reaction is not awareness. Most of us are running on patterns carved into us long ago. To be conscious is to see clearly without flinching, to question the script, to endure uncomfortable truth. That kind of wakefulness is rare.

Most people confuse activity in the mind with thought. They repeat what they were handed and call it their own. Real thinking asks you to slow down, to analyze what is right in front of you, to question what feels comfortable. Few are willing to do that. So we walk through history half awake, alive but not truly present.

Imagine a group of friends obsessed with football.

All season long, they watch the matches, follow transfers, know the players, the tactics, the drama.

Then one friend shows up only during the World Cup.

Doesn’t watch the league.
Doesn’t know the teams.
Doesn’t follow the season.

Now imagine that friend insists on voting for the best player of the year.

Everyone would say:
“Bro, you don’t even watch football.”

And that’s normal.

No one gets offended.
No one feels attacked.

But in politics, it’s the opposite.

Someone can ignore politics for four years.

No debates.
No laws.
No accountability.
No idea who did what.

Then on election day, suddenly their vote is sacred, and you’re not allowed to question how informed they are.
In sports, we accept that knowledge matters.

In politics, which decides our lives, we pretend it doesn’t.

That’s the real problem.

So… the 1X NEO home robot is not actually autonomous.

Behind the scenes, it’ll often be teleoperated by humans, meaning someone, somewhere, could literally remote-control a robot inside your living room.

I wanted the dawn of embodied AI.
