@CarbonRobot @nasobot You might want to look at this… https://t.co/qqel4hyxmI There are extra steps in the new version, but it is possible to use DSS. I never had to tell DSS where the core was in every frame… but that’s what you have to do. @NebulaPhotos does a great job demonstrating it.

Settings: cool -10, Gain 100, exp 600 s. DSS to convert single sub FIT file to TIFF. PS & DenoiseAI to clean up.
Here’s a cleaned up version of Comet C/2022 E3 ZTF from 1/21. Gave up on stacking, so this still just a single exposure… as is evident by the starlink satellite trails… The hiccup in the ion tail certainly is interesting though! #cometZTF#Astrophotography@skyatnightmag

Drove 100 miles to darker less cloudy skies. Spent the night at a winery to for another shot at Comet C/2022 E3 ZTF! Single exposure. Finally got to shoot without a light pollution filter!!! Will do some stacking of data later… #cometZTF#Astrophotography@skyatnightmag
