I fell in love with a Mockingbird when I was a kid. Was at a music store 100 miles away.
I saved for several months to get that guitar. I also sold my current guitar. I called the music to get the total price on the guitar and make sure they still had it. I had barely enough money. I had maybe $2 more which I would use for gas money.
I got to the store and said I wanted to buy. Extreme excitement! They rang up the price and it was $30 more than what they told me over the phone. Some kind of local tax they forgot to mention. I explained that I didnโt have it. โTough luck kidโ.
Never got the guitar or any other BC Rich. I didnโt hold the experience against the brand, I just didnโt happen to ever get a BC Rich.
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces of gear. Hereโs why -
Itโs tube, so itโs got the feel Iโm looking for. I can get good tones from tube captures on some modeling gear, but the feel is slightly different. This feels like a tube amp because it is one.
2 watt output jack. In addition to being a preamp, itโs got a 2 watt powered output. This is great for driving a 1x8, 1x10 or even a 1x12. The volume isnโt blaring but itโs great for a small practice rig.
It scales. This unit sounds good at 2 watt out into my Orange 1x8 cabinet. At the other end - plug this into a KSR power amp/Mesa 4x12 and the tone slays!
