Meeting Mötley Crüe was the best thing that had ever happened to me. I had first hated on them so bad because my "Ex" at age 12 said something about my favorite band at the time, Aerosmith, and it made me mad so I hated on his favorite band, Mötley. I had then started listening to Girls, Girls, Girls. My mom and I were talking about celebrity crushes one day and I said mine was Steven Tyler. She showed me a picture of Nikki Sixx and I said, "Ew." I began to listen to more of their stuff, forgetting about the incident. I realized that I started to like their stuff. I began to listen more and more and started reading stuff on the members, Neil, Sixx, Lee, and Mars, (before I knew he was no longer in the band.) I began to realize that my favorite was probably Tommy. But then I dug deeper and listened to more songs. I then realize Sixx and I had almost the same childhood, except my father was the monster like Deana. I started to look up pictures, and tiktok posts, and follow them on social media. I got a Nikki Sixx mugshot t-shirt and everybody at school thought it was so cool. I felt like a champion. I then told my mom, "Mom, if Mötley Crüe ever tours again, would you promise to take me?" She had said yes. A week later, The Return of the Carnival of Sins was announced. I begged my mom. She agreed to take me. I was so happy. The concert was July 18th. I had received a pick from Teslas Dave Rude and two Nikki Sixx picks. I felt like the luckiest 13 year old in the world. Then, I had told my mom, "Mom, I really need to meet them." We were really struggling with debt and behind on bills. She said, "Pfft, yeah maybe if I win the lottery." A few weeks later I got a call at 2:57am. "Jagger, I just won $225,000." I replied, "Can we go meet Mötley now?" She said yes. I cried my eyes out. Then next thing I knew, I left at 2pm on a Thursday headed 6hrs away from home to meet them the next day for my 14th birthday. I had made them bracelets and Nikki a necklace and a sketch I did of him. I met them on August 28th of 2026. Something about meeting them healed a part of my childhood. I was choked by my father as a young child. My mom wasnt really around. I had just cut contact with my father a month before meeting them. I got to shake their hands, and it was like all my problems just...vanished. I pray to meet them again someday, and tell them in person just how much they mean to me, and how proud I am of them for overcoming addictions. I hope to be able to afford it again someday. I thank you, Mötley Crüe. I love you all.
Just finished The Heroin Diaries. Gotta say, this book is sad and tragic yet also kind of informing. It teaches you not to ever think about doing drugs. Great book, @NikkiSixx! 10/10.
