Sofia Koons, Bridget Mullen, and Avery Stives all ran well enough to qualify as individuals, but Elizabeth Siefker and Amelia Litten ran amazing the second half of the race to secure the deal. On to Fortress Obetz!
This group of athletes came together at the right time to put together an incredible TEAM race. 4th in the region on a day when not everything went right so some ppl stepped waaay up. Don’t let anyone tell you xc isn’t a team sport!
Very proud of this group - a strong 2nd place finish just missing first by 5 points. Mullen, Harris, and Siefker all PRd.
Overall:
Koons 2nd
Mullen 3rd
Stives 13th (SB)
Harris 21st
Siefker 27nd
Starck 36th
McGee 57th
Today the post season begins! After a great senior night on Wednesday we are looking to keep the momentum going as the Jags run at the Madison District. Go Jags!!
SJA took him the team victory and Carolyn Skrha ran one of the fastest times ever on the course in her way to winning in 20:34.
Senior Lizzie Papesch wanted her first letter in her last race! Shout out to all who PRd and made the day such a great success!
Tonight was our senior night at Mastick! We celebrated our 11 seniors and honored them by making them race a 5k. It was a FAST evening and we want to thank our friends at St Ed’s St Ignatius Magnificat and Mentor for joining in the fun.
On Saturday the Jags split the squad with the top 7 going to the prestigious Portage Invite in Michigan. 8 of the top 10 Michigan teams were in the field . SJA finished 14th of 39 teams. In this pic of top 50 finishers Sofia Koons and Bridget Mullen are representing!
Something that @TeamCoachBuzz gave me years ago that I keep by my bed…I believe #TodayMatters and to take full advantage we need to measure the results of the day.

Tough times = tougher people
The tough times are what make everything grow. In the words of Razor Ramon, “Hard work pays off. Dreams come true. Bad times don’t last - but ‘bad’ guys do.”
There were many great performances and PRs, but our athletes of the meet were Ella Antonetti and Grace Schmidt for earning their first varsity letters!
Today the Jags earned a 3rd place finish out of 16 teams at the Madison Invitational.
Sofia Koons led the way in 4th place and was sub 19:00.
Avery Stives, Elizabeth Siefker, Katharine Starck, and Addy McGee rounded out the scoring.
The Black River crew finished a very solid 4th place out of 11 schools. They were led by junior Bridie Hyland.
The Cedarville group got 5th in the combined results and 2nd in the Catholic division w/Bridget Mullen getting 6th in the combined and 3rd put of all Catholic runners
We are splitting the squad this weekend with one group headed to the Midwest all Catholic meet in Cedarville and the other going to Black River. Both have early starts to their day - rise and shine Jaggies!!
In a massive come-from-behind TEAM effort the open team rallied to win their race in a close battle over Massillon Jackson! Awesome last 1000m from the whole top 5 - more later…
These are the top 15 finishers from this morning. The jags had five of them, which was the secret to today’s victory at the Massillon Jackson invitational. Sophomore Sofia Koons was the individual runner-up.
