This year we held our first ever Masterclass Residency and we were thrilled to welcome four exceptional composers to #JAMontheMarsh: @LiddellBiles, @musikschopfer, @composer_ryder & @JagoThornton

[Jess Tipton 🌍 @DrJessT_eco]

@JAMontheMarsh @LiddellBiles @musikschopfer @composer_ryder @JagoThornton @sacconiquartet @IkonArtsMgmt @ace_national @Kent_cc @FHextraordinary @KentCommunity @TNLComFund @RDHCT @MarshChurches Really enjoyed all the new pieces, so varied and skillfully executed, great to hear the influence of birdsong and nature

[JAM @jamconcert_uk]

Congratulations to @JagoThornton, winner of this year's President Commission, awarded by JAM President @PaulMealor.

His string quartet 'becoming birdsong' beautifully captured the atmosphere of the Romney Marsh.

The @mozartplayers will perform his commission next year.

@joanna_mward I'm convinced that there's going to be a ton of ear damage lawsuits against tfl in about 10 years

Lovely words from @eroyalauthor about my piece written for @BBCYoungMus last year! @BBCRadio3 #NewMusic #percussion #solo #vibraphone

[Emily Royal @eroyalauthor]

Several months later I'm still rewatching BBC young musician percussion final. Fang Zhang's my standout favourite (love Rain the blind monk!) but "Crystal Projections" by @JagoThornton I'll willingly listen to on a permanent loop. Listen & be transported😍

*** COMPOSER NO 30 ***

Our next composer is @JagoThornton who is a professional composer whose recent piece 'Crystal Projections' was performed in the percussion final of @BBCYoungMus by Alex Pullen. The Radio Times described the piece as 'sparkling'.
