I grew up in the church, and my faith has a lot to do with how I lead today. When I talk about raising the minimum wage, it’s because I believe in the dignity of work. When I talk about protecting our hospitals, it’s because I believe every child of God deserves access to good healthcare.
My faith taught me that we’re called to serve others. That’s what I’ve tried to do my entire career and that’s what I’ll bring with me to the U.S. Senate.
Obama: We've got a U.S. ambassador shaking down a donor to pay off her $100,000 credit card bills. A Venezuelan billionaire wanted a pardon, so he paid one of Trump's personal lawyers $50 million. This is a culture that's set at the top. We have never seen a president excel in straight-up grifting like this.
OSSOFF: If you’re late with your rent, the machinery of late fees and eviction is very efficient. But when you tell your landlord about the black mold in your daughter’s bedroom, nobody comes for four months. And then, when you’ve got to take her to the hospital for her asthma attack, you get a $3,000 bill for the ambulance.
Life was already hard enough before Donald Trump lied us into war, before his tariffs made everything more expensive, and before he doubled your health insurance premiums and slashed Medicaid.
It costs more today than ever before in American history to fill up your truck, to stock your fridge, to power your home, to go to the doctor.
Meanwhile, and you’ve seen it, the president and the first family line their pockets to the tune of billions of dollars.
The time has come to wield the power granted to us by our Constitution and rebuke this obscenity.
Quote a partial sentence to mislead from a video more than three years ago. Nice way to misrepresent what he really said and the points he was making.
In the complete remarks he first cites the Beatitudes from Luke (“blessed are you who are poor… who hunger now… who weep now”), then says Jesus would tell the Legislature: “Blessed are the trans children who are bullied, blessed are the new moms who are kicked off their health care, blessed are the construction workers who are denied a water break, blessed are the prisoners who are locked in windowless cells without air conditioning,” before calling for care of “the lost, the last, and the least.”

If you follow me, you know I keep repeating the words "focus" and "perspective". And I keep advising those who feel anxiety and outrage to do the things you do to keep sane and happy, relatively speaking.
Well, it's Sunday - here's my update:
1. Everyone seems focused. That's great!
2. Almost everyone is maintaining perspective. That's also great!
3. Early voting is off the charts.
4. Dems are poised to slay in the House.
5. I don't want to be overconfident on the Senate, but we're holding our seats and I think this includes Mich, NC is a flip, Ohio is a flip, Alaska is a likely flip, and we just need Maine or Texas with the outside shot of Iowa and the maybe-not-that-outside shot of Kansas.
6. Every day, the Trump machine sticks more feet in their collective gullets. People don't like being talked to like they're idiots, and a lot of those that were ok with that in 2024, are not ok with it now. So - the trend keeps going.
7. And the good news and the punchline of this post, is that - for those still wrestling with anxiety and outrage who don't want to be confident because they think they'll jinx it, you're free to fret. I was just confident FOR you, so ... carry on and enjoy your Sunday.
BREAKING: In a stunning moment, Congressman Jason Crow, who sits on the House Armed Services committee, just announced that his number one goal should Democrats retake the House in November, will be to remove Pete Hegseth from his role as the Secretary of Defense. Let's go.
The @GOP must be thrilled that 11 days before elections, we learn that the Trump family secretly orchestrated a deal to allow Russians to drill Alaska in exchange for a $25 billion "investment" funneled through their proxies.
"Our endorsement of Acton rests on more than Ramaswamy’s failure to meet a basic standard of decency. She has earned consideration on her own record, her preparation and her commitment to the people she seeks to serve."
Cleveland Plain Dealer reverses their decision to stay neutral and endorses @amyactonoh — a true leader and public servant.

My fellow Mississippians I do give a damn that you’re suffering at the pump.
