Adults:
Within 5-10 years after our kids graduate HS, most will become spouses, homeowners, parents, employees, business owners, etc.
Be careful of making the outcome of youth sporting events bigger than it is. It’s part of their growth. It’s part of their experience. It’s part of their process. That’s really it.
Keep it all in perspective. Breathe, control YOUR emotions and enjoy this temporary phase in THEIR life. It will be over before you know it.
Sunday night thoughts from a baseball mom…….
My kid has played baseball since he was 5. He’s 12 now. At every stage, parents get so caught up in who is a good player right now. There’s so much talk about this kid or that kid. I’ve been guilty of listening to the gossip myself at times, and it’s just irrelevant at this age. It causes so much anxiety and it’s just so, so useless.
Just love the player you have now….Wherever he or she is in the process. It’s the greatest thing we can do for our athlete.
Parents: I'll never understand why you would come to practice & try to coach your player from the bleachers. The other day, we had 4 coaches coaching a practice of 11 kids & a parent was shouting instructions to not only his player but others as well.
Why? What is wrong with people?
The player was obviously embarrassed. I told him not to worry about it. I then walked over & asked the parent if there was a problem. He said, "No." I told him, "Then please take a seat & enjoy your kid learning & practicing baseball with his team. If you want to coach, you can take your son & start your own team."
He left the facility. Haven't seen him since. His son has been at practice & seems much happier he doesn't have Dad breathing down his neck. 🤷🏼♂️
Big thank you to Stan, our property leader who started installing touch-less soap dispensers today!!!! Thank you to #Target for continuing to invest in the health and safety of our valued team and guests! @I_Tob26 @Jake2934
Saw this and thought it’s a great reminder that you own your career. Don’t let a single person, or a failed outcome determine your next 5, 10, 20 years in life.
