In a devastating piece, Rufus Gifford, who has held major national campaign fundraising roles for the Democratic Party since 2008, says that under Ken Martin’s leadership, the DNC is “spiraling towards irrelevance,” its staff is losing faith, and there is “no saving Martin’s chairmanship.”

Rufus notes that he, like other major fundraisers and donors, has never heard from Martin since Martin became chairman.

Scoop: The false allegation that led
Buttigieg to be separated from his kids last month came from someone police later deemed possibly “mentally unstable,” per records.

Michigan police waited six days after approaching Buttigieg to attempt to identify the accuser. When we contacted her, she couldn’t answer basic questions about her claims.

Child welfare experts said this case shows a flawed process that was made worse by poor judgment & communication among investigators from two states. “It should scare all of us,” one said.

Michigan AG now investigating how this was handled.
