@LeoDAndreB Yeah I just disagree.
Bradley Beal is a name. People love names. Whether he’s making the vet min, the mid-level or the max, his name will always carry a certain cache with people (fans/media) which can wind up making life more difficult for everyone else around the team.
@analyzingfutbol I’d be stunned if the club went near Nico G
Purely due to the City connection. It’s a stupid reason and I personally would have no problem signing players from City or Liverpool but you can guarantee there will be a segment of the fanbase who will refuse to embrace those players
@jakeissenberg Quote 2/2:
“The next couple yrs it's gonna be like 2024, where you're looking at, Risacher, Shepard, Castle, Holland.
We're gonna have 2 drafts like that coming up, it feels like”
@jakeissenberg Quote 1/2:
“I'm already worried about the next couple of drafts coming up. I've been already out on the road, scouting the ‘27 draft, the ‘28 draft, all these high school juniors, seniors. I think this is almost as good as it's gonna get in terms of, the top 3-4 of this draft”
@KevEastSports Not sure why experienced CF is the necessity.
I think “experienced” is mainly code for someone who’s happy to be backup to Sesko.
Much easier to get an older player to do that than a younger guy.
If they still rate Delap then I think he’s an ideal candidate in a vacuum.
@KevEastSports I think they will too but that’s very much due to optics.
I can’t imagine they’ve totally changed their evaluation of Delap based on one rough season. If fan/media reaction was no consideration then I think they’d see him as a good signing for £30m or so.
@suyashft Does it though?
Some analysts have suggested that having a complete, all-around midfield isn’t the only way to succeed.
They could conceivably lean into a style that covers up for the weaknesses of Mainoo, Santos and Tielemans while bringing in another guy with similar profile.
@deliberatepix@mikezarren@Dillonmit_23 One of my favourite parts of Summer League every year is watching Zarren punching the air on the sidelines after a good play. He truly is one of us.
@jakeissenberg Loooooong way to go but watching Cenac play, it’s not hard to see why he was something like the 6th ranked HS recruit in his class.
Size, shooting, rebounding. A LOT to like there.
@jakeissenberg Yeah that’s pretty much what I’ve been thinking since the Brad presser.
“You wanna be a career Celtic, win another ring, Finals MVP? Awesome, sounds like a plan - now do us a favour and give us a discount”
Knowing how much he wants to win, I think there’s a shot he co-operates.
@jakeissenberg If this trade works out it’s going to be very funny to watch ppl act like it was never considered a bad trade.
Like how history has been totally rewritten on the ‘17 Fultz/Tatum trade. Ainge got crucified for that at the time. Now people routinely act like it was a no brainier.
@JoshEberley He’s still really raw. Ppl expecting him to blow them away this year will be left disappointed.
I’m a big fan of his but he cannot dribble at the NBA level yet. He’s an energy wing who does a bunch of the little things.
Cs will be very happy if he becomes Toumani Camara in time
