URGENT - JUDGE TO ISSUE ORDER BLOCKING ANTI-WEAPONIZATION FUND
US District Court Judge Leonie Brinkema said she would issue a preliminary injunction today, blocking the Trump Administration’s $1.8 Billion anti-weaponization fund.
Judge Brinkema said that within a week she wants an “unambiguous declaration … under oath” from Acting AG Todd Blanche and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent that the fund is dead. In that case she would be inclined to dismiss the case.
Brinkema went on to point out that President Trump called her a “radical left judge,” and said repeatedly how important the fund is to him and quoted the president saying, “I personally think the weaponization fund is a great idea… if they don’t get it I’ll be disappointed.”
DOJ lawyer Andrew Block argued that acting Attorney General Todd Blanche has already assured in public and on paper that the fund is not going forward, and therefore the case should be dismissed as moot.
Judge Fitzpatrick concluded that the government had, “satisfied its burden.”
“I can’t ignore just the scope and depth and strength of the government’s evidence,” said Judge Fitzpatrick, citing Mr. Rush’s means, motive and ability to flee and avoid detection.
URGENT - Judge William Fitzpatrick ordered that CIA agent David Rush remain in detention pending further court action.
Mr. Rush was recently arrested when FBI agents found millions in gold bars and luxury watches at his Virginia home.
Rush had been aware that he was under investigation for three weeks prior to his arrest and didn’t flee, according to his defense attorney.
Mr. Rush sat quietly in a green prison jumpsuit, occasionally whispering to his defense attorney.
Rush’s attorney Jessica Carmichael countered that the government has only brought one charge of falsifying timesheets and asked that her client be released and tracked with an ankle monitor. “the gold bars were properly accounted for and securely stored at his house for work.”
DOJ prosecutor Gavin Tisdale called Rush a “master manipulator,” who falsely claimed he was a doctor, also lying to neighbors about being a pilot. “He can’t be trusted,” added Tisdale, telling Judge Fitzpatrick there are still funds that are unaccounted for.

“Since time immemorial," journalists at the White House, State Department, and all over Washington have said, "I have a question for you. You only have to say, I can't answer that... Asking a question is not criminal."
