According to psychology, people who cannot handle their own internal shame will often project it onto you. They will trigger your insecurities, push your buttons, and then point at your reaction as proof that you are the problem. It's a subconscious tactic to shift the burden of their own toxicity onto your shoulders.
adhd ruins my life everyday it pisses me off when people talk about it like some quirky personality trait. do you understand how horrific it is to know you have to get something done and your brain is on red alert screaming at you to do it but you just physically cant
According to psychology people who grew up in families where no one apologized for disagreements, and would just let time pass instead of actually resolving things, often become conflict-avoidant, fearing confrontation or the expression of negative emotions, poor communicators, lacking the skills to effectively resolve issues or express their needs and feelings.
Having MEMORY LOSS from depression and trauma is a weird experience because people don’t understand how scary it is when depression and trauma start affecting your memory. Like you really start forgetting whole moments of your life, conversations, things people told you, how you used to act, and even parts of yourself. It’s like your brain got so overwhelmed from surviving everything that it started deleting things just to protect you.
“But you survived.”
I dissociate, like, a lot. My heart drops when someone raises their voice. I shut down very easily. I’m far too observant. I always feel like a burden. I isolate often.
But yeah, sure. I guess I survived.
WHY AM I SO FAR BEHIND EVERYONE MY AGE?? WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR ME TO DO THE SAME THINGS AS EVERYONE ELSE ??WHY CANT I JUST BE NORMAL AND NOT STRUGGLE OR BE SCARED OF EVERYTHING
Be careful with people who have HIGH FUNCTIONING DEPRESSION. Let me explain:
1. They get up, get dressed, go to work, and cry in silence when nobody’s watching.
2. They check on everybody else, but don’t feel safe asking for help themselves.
3. Their smile is practiced, their “I’m fine” is automatic, their breakdowns are private.
4. They appear to be okay, give solid advice, and hold everybody down, but when the world gets quiet, their thoughts get loud.

so does anyone else occassionally get a random 2 seconds of perfect clarity where you fully realise and feel just how far downhill your life has gone and the fact that it's 2026 and not 2021 but then your brain immediately shuts down and corrects itself back to normal
emotional abuse indicator (conditioned to assume that knowledge of your interests will be used to hurt you by denying you access to your interests, mocking your interests, sabotaging you, etc)
Not enough people talk about the grief of realizing your diagnosis SHOULD'VE come decades ago.
It's not just "everything makes sense now."
It's... "who could I have been, if someone had seen me sooner?... damn...
You are allowed to mourn.
I overheard a girl at a bus station telling her boyfriend, “I can’t help you through everything, but I can love you through everything,” and I just hope everyone finds this kind of love.
