Former WR Nate Washington was one of over 70 people/players to hold a recent Zoom call with Mike Tomlin. #Steelers
"Just to say thank you to Mike T. All individually. We sat on that phone for two hours, almost."

One of the biggest misconceptions about Mike Tomlin that some can’t seem to understand. Since 2020, Tomlin is 60-40-1
His #1 QBs over that span?
37 and 38 year old Ben Roethlisberger
1st and 2nd year Kenny Pickett
36 year old Russell Wilson
42 year old Aaron Rodgers?
Who else is producing a .600 winning percentage over that time?
What are we doing?
Mike T deserves criticism for being 0-7 in his last 7 playoff appearances. But he also had no business at alltaking some of those teams to the playoffs. So it’s kinda like
Todd Haley on Mike Tomlin: “This is one of the smartest guys I’ve ever been around. Smartest intellectually, smartest football. He’s phenomenal… All these Pittsburghers [say], ‘We need a new coach.’ No. Just get a quarterback that can play, and continue to find good players. You’re in good hands. He is really awesome. I was amazed by him every day.” #Steelers #NFL
🚨🥶 Matthew Knies says living with John Tavares for his first season really opened his mind to the kind of preparation Tavares puts into his game on and off the ice, from early wake-ups and strict routines to prepped meals, extra time at the rink, and even ice baths, and taught him lessons about preparation, leadership, and taking responsibility
“I was really fortunate to live with him — for him to open his doors to me, to let me live with his family, with his kids. Honestly, it was eye-opening for a 19- or 20-year-old coming in and seeing how professional he is: how dialed in he is to his routine, his eating habits, his treatment habits, how prepared he is, how early he shows up, how much time he spends at the rink, and even how he takes care of himself with things like ice baths. It was completely shocking to me.
Living with him, you pick up a lot of things and realize, ‘I’m not doing it right. There are small things I’m missing that could give me an edge, make me a better player.’ I learned a ton from him. He’s been huge for our locker room, for leadership, for setting an example for the young guys, for being vocal, and for taking on a lot of responsibility. He carries a lot of weight, and that has been invaluable. He was a huge influence on me succeeding in my first two years, and honestly, one of the most welcoming and professional people I’ve ever met.”
