This post goes into detail. https://t.co/UrxOnUx15d
If you do get sensitive messages in chat, ban the user and try to not react. It may be hard, so take a break if you need to but give an unrelated reason.
Let your mods know to be extra alert and don’t bring it up on stream.
It’s that time of year again where people suggesting you add your personal information to your block list so trolls can’t type it in chat so that means it’s time to remind you to NOT do that.
It will only be used against you and you’ve potentially have done more harm than good.
@Serena_Bast No please don’t do that. Please don’t tell anyone to do that. You explained exactly why it won’t work.

It’s too easy for the troll to bypass that with endless workarounds.
Ban lists on some platforms have even been publicly accessible before sharing all the data.
@ZZCOOL@DayumDahlia This one actually doesn’t do that at least not directly.
They take time to chat for days even weeks. Then ask to watch a show together. They recommend the site and the site then says “oh you need to download our app for x reason”.
So it’s a little more removed than normal.
@J0hnnyXm4s That’d at least be funny. But instead it’s comments like.
"WONT GET OFF OF THE PENDING ICON IM PAYING FOR THE PREMIUM PACKAGE WTF"
“I DONT KNOW”
“nOT WORKING”
“DON'T KNOW WHY BUT THIS DIDN'T WORK”
And yes the caps were how they typed it. I didn’t add those.
Creators are always surprised to hear that we read their session summary comments.
Don't you read the comments on your videos?
Why wouldn't we do the same with our software?
@J0hnnyXm4s Most of the time it’s the users that vent in the summary and then are embarrassed that someone read it thinking it just went to a spam folder or something.
@giantspearman Please reach out on Discord or during our office hours next week. We really do want creators of all sizes to use the app & feel like it can help their streams. Everyone on the team was/or is a streamer so we understand the struggles.
I get the frustration, thanks for the reply.
