And here’s the part many women refuse to accept:

Men move toward the woman who makes them feel valued, not the one who constantly reminds them they’re failing.

My brothers and sisters,
I’ve been following the case where Safaricom’s attempt to settle out of court over the massive data leak of 11.5 million Kenyans has failed, and I can tell you, what you’ve seen in the media is just the surface.

I’ve gone through some of the court documents myself, and what I found should worry every Kenyan who has ever used a Safaricom line.

First, the case in question involves four Kenyans, and it was Safaricom that sued them in 2019, not the other way round. The four are Simon Billy Kinuthia, Brian Wamatu Njoroge, Benedict Kabugi Ndungu, and a man known as Charles.

According to the court records, Simon, a high-level Safaricom employee, allegedly accessed and downloaded data of 11.5 million Kenyans, containing ID numbers, dates of birth, and other personal details.

He then uploaded the entire database to Google Drive, deleted the folders from his laptop, and shared the Drive link with Brian and Benedict, who also downloaded the data.

It’s alleged that the data was later passed on to a man named Charles to be sold to betting companies. One betting company reportedly paid around Ksh 300 million for that stolen information.

Safaricom discovered this in 2019 and took legal action. A criminal case was opened and arrests made. But here’s where it gets alarming: the DCI only recovered Simon’s laptop. The laptops belonging to Brian and Benedict were never found.

Those missing laptops are critical; they could have shown where our data went, who bought it, and how far it spread, and they could have helped stop the spread. Without them, the truth is still hidden.

And this explains why Safaricom users keep getting messages from betting companies they never subscribed to. Even scammers will call you with all your information and you will be left wondering how they got it

Even worse, investigators and Safaricom have been unable to access Simon’s Google Drive according to some court documents I came across from 2020, meaning our data could still be sitting there, copied, sold, and used.

Safaricom later applied for an injunction in 2020 to stop the accused from using or sharing the data but that application failed. (I’ll share part of the court document in the replies.)

Now, with the case dragging on and seems to be close to ending & Safaricom has been pushing for an out-of-court settlement. And the reason, my brothers and sisters, is simple:

If the accused are found guilty, millions of Kenyans could come forward to sue Safaricom for negligence and the company could be forced to compensate all 11.5 million victims. It will also further cement proof of how saf has been giving kenyan data to sfaraicom

To avoid that, Safaricom reportedly wants a deal, allegedly where the accused grants access to the Google Drive, the matter is quietly settled, and the company shields itself from future lawsuits.

But that would also mean no one will ever prove that our data was sold to betting companies or that Safaricom failed to protect it.

That’s why we must hope the courts do not allow any out-of-court settlement because such a deal would bury the truth forever.

Today, the first 238 members of the Venezuelan criminal organization, Tren de Aragua, arrived in our country. They were immediately transferred to CECOT, the Terrorism Confinement Center, for a period of one year (renewable).

The United States will pay a very low fee for them, but a high one for us.
