@BMcGrewvy@DouthatNYT If it were actually very obvious, why would so many people who are at least as smart as you (by any measurements we can make) believe in it? I'm not saying that proves it's true, I'm saying that proves it's not obviously false. Hopefully a math PhD can follow that logic.
@DouthatNYT I would encourage all wondering about this to look at what our top leaders actually taught in our last "General Conference" (twice-yearly televised talks from our apostles and other leaders) - I doubt other Christians will find much to disagree with: https://t.co/shT9qOb3SQ
@DouthatNYT The omnipresence of mcmansions throughout America's countryside does not make me want to live there more than Europe, and I suspect it's root causes have an inverse affect on happiness in general (kinda like how kids make you poorer but happier, Ross).
@DouthatNYT Stack Overflow isn't where I went to conceive of and engineer a great new idea nobody had before, it's where I went when I couldn't figure out some obscure detail, and it was mediocre for that anyway. AI is great at the latter, awful at the former, and will always be so.
@kevinroose Hopefully it's embarassing to the NYTimes how suckered in Kevin Roose has been by anything AI. This is not some complicated technology that's difficult to learn to use, and frankly no AI has proven very useful to me at coding outside of generic basics (which it's great for!).
@GovCox If you had the courage to acknowledge how gerrymandered every legislature-created option has been, you would have some moral/truth authority on this issue. At present you have none.
@mckaycoppins I know this one's a harder sell because he's not famous and may seem like a generic BYU professor, but he's a converted Jew (<- interesting angle currently) who was previously a stoner hippie in LA, one of the sharpest minds I've ever met. Ross Baron: https://t.co/7F4auqgj9v
@Deseret@mckaycoppins I don't listen to podcasts, but I applaud your efforts to up your journalism game beyond your current crop of knee-jerk partisans who struggle to say anything other than Mike Lee talking points. These two will be terrific.
@BrighamTomco@burkeo you might want to look into this poor biased reporting and how it reflects poorly on Utah, the church, the health of our politics, and the truth.
@BrighamTomco Wow, you must have buddies in the legislature/GOP to have so blatantly buried the lede here. The data says Utahns who have an opinion support Prop for by more than 2-1, but you somehow managed to twist this into implying support is low. Is Boyd Matheson your mentor?
@NutlawPete@DouthatNYT The Nephites were never commanded or even allowed to go on offense against the Lamanites, despite continual aggression. Alma 48:14 is one of the most concise places this is spelled out, but more in Alma 43, Alma 48, and Mormon 3 and 4.
@NutlawPete@DouthatNYT Good point, though Laban tried to kill Nephi and stole all of their family's belongings, so this wasn't unprovoked. I'm talking more about "did God command the Israelites to go kill and destroy cities as the Old Testament says?", and the Book of Mormon seems to say "nope."
