When thinking about account abstraction on Ethereum, EIP-4337 often comes to mind as a prominent proposal for most people.

Enter EIP-3704, a new Ethereum proposal poised to significantly impact the landscape of account abstraction. 🌍

What is EIP-3704?

EIP-3704 proposes a new type of call, known as AUTHCALL, which grants smart contracts permission to execute transactions on behalf of a user.

This is done through a special signed message from the user, which is passed to a smart contract along with their ECDSA signature.

The signature is verified using the AUTH opcode, and the smart contract is then allowed to use the user's address as a `msg.sender` through AUTHCALL.

This approach is similar to the regular CALL function but tailored for account abstraction!

While EIP-4337 is comprehensive, its complexity slows down adoption. EIP-3704, on the other hand, avoids the difficulties of sponsored transactions and relayers, offering a more straightforward approach.

Could EIP-3704's direct and user-friendly design give it the upper hand in Ethereum's evolving landscape over the complex EIP-4337?

Last week was centered around the #FOMC, where the FED decides on changes in interest rates in the economy.

While the FED made the anticipated decision to keep interest rates within the same target range (5.25% - 5.50%), the crucial insight from the meeting lies in Jerome Powell's speech.

Let's summarize a couple of statements:

• Economic growth decelerated from Q3.

• Unemployment remains at a low level.

• The spotlight will now shift to the timing and magnitude of rate cuts throughout 2024.

• Anticipating three cuts in 2024, concluding the year at 4.6%.

The announcement of multiple interest rate cuts in 2024 brought a positive surprise to the public, indicating that liquidity will be injected into the market next year.

• How was 2023?

As we approach the end of the year, let's recap the year's outset.

At the start of the year, the outlook was challenging.

Inflation was elevated, the Federal Reserve adopted a hawkish stance, and measures were taken to reduce liquidity.

However, as the year progressed, economic data indicated a moderation in inflation, a low unemployment rate, and continued economic growth given the circumstances.

This enabled the FED to shift towards a more dovish stance, like the one we are currently seeing.

• What to expect in 2024?

It's important to remind you that markets move according to expectations.

Powell's speech has fostered a more optimistic outlook for 2024.

Notably, markets are currently pricing in not 3 cuts in 2024, but 6!

Of course, these probabilities will change a lot as the year unfolds, but it underscores the market's optimism for 2024!

If this scenario materializes, and liquidity begins to surge back into risk markets, we can anticipate a substantial upswing in the crypto space.

Numerous catalyst events are on the horizon for the next year: ETF approvals, BTC Halving, Updates on Ethereum, new L2s...

If these developments align with liquidity streaming into the market, we can only expect positive outcomes for 2024.

And, of course, Zaros is rolling out the testnet in Q1 2024, and the mainnet still in H1.
