We would recommend going somewhere that is supervised, as even in warm weather, the water can be extremely cold

A little while ago, PFCC Danielle Stone met with businesses in Northampton town centre to discuss retail crime.

She was joined by @NorthantsPolice Chief Constable Ivan Balhatchet and @NorthamptonBID.

Danielle is now hoping to convene a retail roundtable to discuss solutions.

This afternoon we were at @RushdenLakesSC to support the @northantspolice Unity Tour – wishing them well for their 220-mile charity bike ride.
While there our crew from Rushden, as well as Red Watch at Kettering, were on hand to speak to visitors about summer and water safety.

Today is #WorldDrowningPreventionDay. To mark it, a vigil was held in memory of 17-year-old Ronalds Abele, who sadly drowned at the Embankment (W'boro) in May.
Ronalds' parents & NFRS Prevention Team Leader Darren Carson have spoken about the need to stay safe near open water.

If you see fire engines at the Waterside Campus of @UniNorthants this morning, please do not be alarmed.
We are conducting a planned exercise during the morning, working with the University to test both our procedures should there ever be a fire at the site.

We are currently at a fire at Harrogate Court, Corby.
Six appliances are currently on scene trying to extinguish a fire that originally had involved a garden fence but has now spread to a terraced row of bungalows – with three properties currently affected.

We are now scaling down the Bridge Street fire in Northampton.

Fetter Street and St John’s Street are now open to pedestrians – but Bridge Street and roads surrounding One Angel Square remain closed to ensure public safety.

Firefighters and staff gathered at HQ today to wave off Jo Gouldson - who is leaving NFRS after a sterling 22 years of service. As a Community Safety Officer, she has been providing fire, road and water safety advice to people of all ages, but particularly at schools.

If you see it all 'kicking-off' in the Sixfields area of Northampton tomorrow (29/11), don't worry! We will be undertaking a multi-agency training exercise in the stadium area, so you may see an increased presence of blue lights and emergency vehicles between 7-9pm.
