My latest Guardian piece.
Want to hear a crazy stat? Plaid's vote share in the Welsh election was bigger than Labour's in the General Election.
Plaid won 35.4% of the vote last week while Starmer’s Labour picked up 33.7% of the 2024 GE.
Yet Starmer has 63% of the seats in Westminster while ap Iorwerth has 45% of the seats in Wales.
Electoral systems matter.

If Wales would be “extremely poor” what does it say about the Union which has neglected our needs?
It’s difficult to comprehend how the leader of a nation can have such little confidence in it.
I cannot recommend this incredible play enough!!! Housemates by Tim Green Co produced by @ShermanTheatre & @HijinxTheatre everything theatre should be!! Go see!! https://t.co/PWdUSPGn1D
I think this video says it all 🤷🏻♂️
The realisation on the presenters face that @RhunapIorwerth is right and that this isn’t fair is just brilliant 👌🏼
HS2 was classified as ‘England-and-Wales’. Because of that, Scotland gets extra cash. Northern Ireland gets extra cash. Wales gets nothing.
@RhunapIorwerth explains on @GMB the injustice of Welsh rail funding.
Plaid Cymru is the only party standing up for Wales 🏴
The Shadow Welsh Secretary has come under fire for displaying a ‘patronising and contemptuous’ attitude towards Wales in a general election interview ✍️@EPriceJourno https://t.co/NRITya5YMm
'This was a political stunt by the Tories, aided and abetted by Plaid Cymru - I have absolute confidence in Vaughan Gething.'
@CHafJones fu'n yn holi Ysgrifennydd Gwladol Cysgodol Cymru @JoStevensLabour yn ail raglen cyfres etholiadol @ybydyneileS4C.

Labour endlessly takes Wales for granted. If this is true, it is an insult to the people of Cardiff West.
I will always be a voice for Cardiff West and for Wales. If you're looking to vote for someone who lives in the area and cares about it - I'm here! 👋🏻🗳️❌🏴
