what did Barcelona do?

They triggered his release clause and got the player. Simple.

Espanyol were willing to sell García, but they didn’t want to negotiate directly with Barcelona.

Barcelona didn’t waste time begging or going back and forth, they paid the clause and made Espanyol completely powerless.

So, if Barcelona fans genuinely believe Atlético Madrid don’t want to negotiate with them for Julián Álvarez, then why are you still wasting time?

Do the same thing you did with Joan García.

Pay the release clause and get the player.

If Atlético Madrid cannot be forced into a negotiation, then make them helpless by triggering the clause.

That is exactly what a club does when it really wants a player.

Stop complaining about Atlético refusing to sell to you.

Pay the clause and take Julián Álvarez.
