A quick comment related to my faith walk..
I have a close family member who has associated himself with the likes of @dalepartridge and @JoelWebbon. This has upset me, as I do not view these men as quality men of God, and it disappoints me even more that a family member is going down the same road. However, I addressed one of their comments in a way that would probably not please God, with some less-than-ideal language… the same type of language I am upset they use. Cringy. For that, I sincerely apologize.
Learning point: don’t lower yourself to the standards of these click-baiting fools. Be a strong man or woman of God in the right way, while giving zero credence to distractions. Focus more on spreading the light than trying to fix the darkness.
@JesseLCaldwell@JoelWebbon Digitally sucking off your favorite racist “pastor”… also gay.

Getting offended cause you can’t take it even though you dish it out…. also gay.
Burn the boats.
I found out about Combat Control almost at the exact same time as graduation from the Academy.
I already had orders to my pilot training base in Texas, and after a few months of training and research, I knew what I really wanted to do.
I remember telling my Wing Commader I wanted to be a STO, not a pilot. He thought I was crazy, and initially told me no. Eventually, he allowed me to go assess, with one condition… if I wasn’t selected, I would be reassigned to “needs of the Air Force”… I could no longer come back to pilot training. I accepted, and thank God, the rest has shaped my history.
If you’re not EXACTLY where you want to be right now, do a 180 and follow your calling with reckless abandon.
BURN. EVERY. F’in. BOAT.
Christians, STOP DIVIDING.
The ONLY things you should divide or break fellowship on are those points which an intelligent ATHEIST would agree there is an objective, Christian stance on that topic.
Example: Jesus Christ was the son of God, was crucified on the cross, and rose again on the 3rd day.
Sure, debate eschatology.
Debate baptism nuances.
Debate communion nuances
Etc etc.
But at the end of the day, what is most important is the the WORLD sees you and the Christian you have a disagreement with worship together and “hug-it-out” at the end of the debate. This is the way.
For a couple of years, I tried to broker real peace among a lot of warring folks on Reformed X. My aim was simple: I wanted us to get things done in the post-Covid world: planting churches, building durable institutions, putting down roots again. That’s hard to do when you’re constantly fighting with people you agree with on 90% of everything.
So I made the calls, got people talking, and in a few cases it actually helped. But eventually it became obvious many didn’t want peace. They enjoyed the quarreling. That’s when I stopped. No sense throwing good time after bad. I pulled out of almost all of it because it wasn’t furthering my local goals anyway.
It was the right call. My life has far less stress now, and I’ve found far more stable partners for real ministry work. Some of them have tiny or even zero social-media presence, yet they’re accomplishing remarkable things in real life.
I still enjoy posting here. My main purpose has always been to signal-boost what I’m working on and to network with like-minded people who want to build something tangible. There are other ways to use this tool, but you need to be careful, or the tool ends up using you.
@rightresponsem Speak plainly Joel. Are you thankful that all Americans (regardless of skin color) are treated equally and regarded as equal under the law, or are you upset about that? @JesseLCaldwell you look up to this guy, let’s see how and if he responds to this question.
The only way to deal with a reviling man is directly call him to repent.
@Eric_Conn your verbiage online is accusatory, borderline hateful, definitely childish, and often full of knowledge but lacking in wisdom.
I urge you to repent and be a good example to the Christian guys that you associate with.
