Today, @GlblCtzn event on Health and Climate, I was privileged to hear @gavi CEO,@SaniaNishtar speak. Her words made so much sense and resonated with me, and my context. I just wanted to hug her!… Settled for a photo.

Kebbi state, Nigeria, is a recipient of Gavi’s health system strengthening. Included are solarization, training of community health workers and provision of motorbikes for vaccinators in HTR areas. This ultimately led to an unprecedented increase in routine immunization in the state- at the Gavi cost of $25, compared to the $1500 it costs to vaccinate a child in the USA. The alliance and its partners are working.

Organizations are only as strong as their leaders. Gavi has had a good run of leaders. However, I think Sania, will be the strongest ever. (She’s a woman ☺️)
