Deputy Ambassador @UKOSCE, UK Delegation to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe. Previously in Moscow, Ankara, Brussels, Stockholm.
🇺🇦 🇪🇺 🇬🇧 event @OSCE in Vienna today on the importance of #accountability for Russia’s war against Ukraine.
Thank you to @TRPforJustice for presenting their vital work.
The UK is proud to work side by side with our EU colleagues in support of #Ukraine at the OSCE.
Europe’s security cannot be built on coercion or spheres of influence.
G7 support for Ukraine 🇺🇦 is clear; while Russia repeats the same tired false narratives. Russia chose this illegal war and violated all #OSCE principles.

Deutschland, Frankreich, Polen, Italien und Großbritannien stehen eng zusammen und übernehmen mehr Verantwortung für die Sicherheit unseres Kontinents. Denn Europas Sicherheit wird nur gemeinsam verteidigt.
While democracy & human rights are under pressure, ODIHR continues its vital work assisting the 57 @OSCE states in strengthening democracy, rule of law & promoting human rights. We thank @DirectorODIHR for today’s valuable discussion.
“What history should have taught our Russian colleague is that the will of peoples to defend their freedom and security will always be stronger than the will of those who want to take it away.”
@FCDOGovUK Director Ben Fender at the #OSCE in Vienna.

🇺🇦🇨🇦🇪🇺🇫🇮🇫🇷🇩🇪🇳🇱🇳🇴🇬🇧 event today at OSCE on 'Countering hybrid threats – drawing lessons from Ukraine'
Strong agreement on need to adapt to evolving security environment & intensifying threats.
We should strengthen our collective responses + resilience, including through the OSCE
Thank you, @osce_odihr, for your support.
The attack on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra once again highlights the far-reaching consequences of Russia’s aggression for civilians, cultural heritage and freedom of religion or belief.
We highly value ODIHR’s continued engagement on these issues.
Russia has launched a massive aerial attack across Ukraine, hitting the Unesco site Pechersk Lavra in Kyiv & killing first-responders in a double-tap strike in Kharkiv.
These savage attacks must stop - by cutting off its shadow fleet, the UK will stifle Russia's war machine.
@KuperSimon And this by Gregor von Rezzori - a magical memoir of life in #Bukovina, then part of Austria-Hungary and now present-day Chernivtsi, #Ukraine.
Some of the #bestbooks that I read in 2025 (with some nice spots to have read them in too…)
Am planning to record what I read in 2026 here. Recommendations and reviews welcome as I go!
@KuperSimon Overdue additions to my 2026 reading list, read while I was in Kyiv last month. This by Lázló Krasznahorkai - set (and written) in 1980s Communist #Hungary.
🇬🇧 strongly supports the vital work of the @OSCEinAstana.
Delivering practical impact across security, governance and reform.

🇬🇧 UK congratulates 🇦🇲 #Armenia Prime Minister Pashinyan on victory in the parliamentary elections. We strongly support @osce_odihr’s important role in providing independent election assessment across the #OSCE region.
UK statement @OSCE: https://t.co/e2FhVdJpfC
Russia continues to intensify its attacks on Ukraine, widening the gap between its rhetoric and actions.
🇺🇦 has shown it is ready for peace. 🇷🇺 continues to undermine that path.
🇬🇧 statement: https://t.co/TGnvP7DOsq
Congratulations @NikolPashinyan on your election victory.
The UK looks forward to working with the new, democratically elected Armenian government to deliver on our Strategic Partnership, strengthen regional stability, & develop closer relations with partners in Europe. 🇬🇧 🇦🇲
Today marked the first annual meeting of the Helsinki+50 Fund. 🇫🇮 Launched in July 2025 as an initiative of the 2025 Finnish OSCE Chairpersonship to improve coordinated mobilisation and long-term support of extrabudgetary funding, it now brings together already 18 donors.
@IrelandOSCE Deputy Representative Gavin Glynn spoke with
@OSCEBiH🇧🇦 Ambassador Rick Holtzapple about the Mission’s priorities and the role of strong institutions in sustaining peace and stability⚖️
#OSCE#Ireland#Peacekeeping
Every civilian death is a tragedy.
Responsibility is clear: Russia chose this illegal war.
Russia’s unverified accusations lack credibility, given its record of blocking independent scrutiny and spreading lies.

Thank you, dear colleagues from the @oscepa Parliamentary Support Team for Ukraine, for speaking out at this critical moment.
Clear messages matter. Russia’s threats against Kyiv, attempts to intimidate the international community, and the continued detention of three OSCE officials cannot be normalized.
Russia’s war against Ukraine is illegal, wrong, and failing.
Soaring casualties, limited gains, and intensified attacks on civilians expose weakness, not strength.
Russia should recognise reality and negotiate a just and lasting peace.

1/2 Recently, GRC’s third Mock Trial took place in Kyiv, bringing together investigators, prosecutors, defence counsel, victim counsel, judges, and journalists for a realistic simulation of an international crimes trial.
Thank you, @OSCE_RFoM Jan Braathu, for speaking out and supporting journalists and media professionals working in Ukraine under constant threat of Russian attacks.
Russia’s war continues to threaten journalists’ safety and media freedom.
We value your continued attention and support for OSCE commitments.
