@JDVance This is such rubbish. The Sikh community has been present in the UK since the 1860s. Today, 71% of UK Sikhs were born here, 65% have a degree level qualification, 75% own their home and there have been 16 Sikh MPs and 8 peers. They are valued contributors to our country.
@campbellclaret I just can’t get (the very wonderful) Robert Smith out of my head whenever I see our PM’s hairdo. “I’m running towards nothing, again and again and again…..”
@lisaocarroll I’m in Morzine. There’s no chaos. People are rearranging transport successfully. It’s calm and orderly. Stop talking it up as worse than it is. @lisaocarroll you’re really not helping.
@mware_newenergy@hoorah73 Is this the future of relationships? Sitting on the sofa Friday night tweeting to each other in dodgy French? Liking your style. Count me in.
@michaelwhite Well spotted. He was an interesting and distinctive voice once. Now every week is the same. Wordcloud: establishment privileged northlondon dinnerparty outoftouch traditionalworkingclassvalues whitebritishpeople immigration getoffmyland. Yawn. The football stuff is good though.
@JohnRentoul @CSOL14441 @simontyrie Piketty says in the absence of crisis, the better off accrue a greater share of wealth over time. Does that matter? Wealthier groups consume less and save more. All imbalances have their downsides.
@JohnRentoul @CSOL14441 @simontyrie This from Piketty. McDonnell’s solutions seem perverse - who else believes in a dialectical transformation to socialism then communism. But there’s nothing wrong with a bit of economic determinism in policy making about economics.
@steverichards14@BBCiPlayer And though one kinda knew that Cameron/Osborne’s austerity was about rolling back the (in their view) oppressive state as much as mere prudence, I’ve not seen it shown in such sharp relief. Bravo!
@steverichards14@BBCiPlayer Tangentially, looking forward to your Johnson PM chapter, which may be some way off. Loved your PMs book, thought best chapters were first and last. Spent my (sorry) youth reading Crossman, Benn, Castle without realising how good HW was.../1
@Supersonic_Inc Spreading good NY vibes, an opposite experience. @FishersLeith was rammed today, we had last minute dropouts and they lost covers as a result. But they let us keep our lovely too big table and served us well. Thanks!
@mware_newenergy@OldRoberts953@hoorah73 My god! Didn’t realise it was that bad. You need to spend more time with the burglar alarm installation man. He’s got the answer!
