The four Muslims were sentenced at Birmingham Crown Court on Thursday, June 25 after admitting wounding with intent and possessing a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence.

Police Hunt "Middle Eastern" Man After Young Woman Was Attacked In Alleyway Behind Sainsbury's In Clapham.

Police have issued an e-fit of a suspect they are desperately trying to identify after a woman in her 20s was raped in a dark alleyway behind Sainsbury's on Clapham High Street in the early hours of the morning.

The victim met the suspect outside a bar on Clapham High Street around 4am on Saturday, February 14. She and another woman then walked with him to a nearby supermarket on Clapham High Street.

After leaving the store, the victim became separated from her friend. It was then that the suspect led her into the alleyway behind Sainsbury's and raped her.

Detective Constable Kay Paterson, leading the investigation, said: "The victim in this case has shown tremendous bravery, coming forward in the wake of an appalling attack. She continues to be supported by specially-trained officers. The rape took place in the early hours on Clapham High Street between 4am and 6am on Saturday, February 14. The suspect and the victim moved between multiple premises, including a pub and supermarket, and we are eager to speak to anyone who has any recollection of seeing them."

The suspect is described as a man of Middle Eastern or southern European appearance, approximately 5ft 11in tall, thin build, with thick eyebrows, a thick beard and black hair. He was wearing a plain white top, jeans and trainers.

Anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit, or saw the group that night, should contact police immediately on 101 quoting reference 4819/26FEB.
