Men and women should speak. Absolutely. But not to exploitative podcasters who are trying to make a buck off your pain and don’t give a sh*t about protecting you or your mental health. You need to seek help in ways that are healthy not harmful to you. Vulnerability to the wrong people can be destructive not helpful. Seek “safe” spaces, seek wise council. Becoming internet gist and a viral meme at the height of your pain is not a healthy way to go about healing. If he was your brother would you want this for him? Empathy is giving your friend a shoulder to cry on when he’s in pain not turning him into a public spectacle. This applies to both men and women. I would not allow my female friend to go on a podcast whilst she’s reeling from a heartbreak to reveal all sorts of private information about her life to strangers. This is not healthy vulnerability! For anyone!
