Excited to be part of the #DSCBI initiative! Huge thanks to #GoR, @statisticsRW, and all partners for their commitment to strengthening Rwanda’s data ecosystem and bridging the data science skills gap.

Today, NISR, in collaboration with @AIMS_Rwanda and @cenfri_org, officially launched the Data Science Capacity Building Initiative (DSCBI).

The 1st cohort of the #DSCBI program is designed to deliver a six-month technical training to strengthen the capacity of professionals in #Rwanda to harness the power of data for evidence-based decision-making within the National Statistical System.
It will train 50 participants from more than 20 ministries and government institutions.

The initiative seeks to build a critical mass of data scientists to close existing skill gaps, enhance the production of timely statistics, and strengthen institutional capacity for policy-making and inclusive development.

All speakers emphasized the program's importance in developing skilled data analysis professionals across government who can effectively use official statistics, leverage modern technology, and generate deeper insights in today’s fast-changing, data-driven world.
