My position on the Iran War was that it was worth a roll of the dice to try topple an existentially hostile anti-West regime when they were extremely weak at the start of the year.

This existentially hostile jihadist regime was at its lowest ebb in decades, which is exactly why it was worth attempting to exploit their weakness in an effort to destroy them once and for all.

It’s unlucky that the Iranian people didn’t/could not rise up at the same time, and it’s unlucky that Europe and domestic US opinion were so hostile to trying to topple the Iranian regime.

I’m glad that the Iranian regime took a mauling, so that they are now objectively weaker than they were before the war.

Iran lost fifty years of defense industrial base buildup, including their entire ballistic missile production chain, their centrifuge production capacity and key nuclear test facilities. Plus they lost several layers of their top military and political leadership. America did all this with less than 20 US deaths.

I pay respect to these fallen heroes who gave their lives for the defence of Western civilization. I am glad that Trump ultimately demonstrated restraint by holding back on military options that would have expanded the war/involved massive amounts of civilian suffering. I am glad that it did not become a boots on the ground war, as Tucker style PANICANS tried to wishcast.

I believe in studying our enemies. Our communist enemies often cite the following maxim from Vladimir Ilich Lenin: “You probe with bayonets: if you find mush, you push. If you find steel, you withdraw.”

Sadly for now the United States must withdraw. Hopefully the time will come soon when the West can finally topple this shithole regime for good.

As it signs a Memorandum of Understanding for “peace”, the Islamic Republic just executed two more protesters from January 8th and 9th.

This is the consequence of making a deal with this criminal regime. To do a deal with a regime that murdered more than 40,000 protestors in two days in January is morally wrong and strategically misguided.

Dealing with this regime will fail and we will all face the consequences. The regime’s 47-year war against the Iranian people continues. Just as it has never made peace with its own citizens, it will never truly make peace with the world.

The international community should back the people of Iran’s fight for freedom. Put them center in any negotiations and in their Iran policy. But let me be clear - with or without international support - this regime will fall. The people of Iran will liberate themselves from tyranny.
