Oliver and I shared the same team so he was actually one of the first artists I got to meet when all of this was starting for me. I’ll never forget how welcoming he was from the first day I met him.
The world lost a truly special person. Love you Oliver. Rest easy ❤️
Busy weekend with a quick @SatAmericaFNC TV hit followed by a day of door-knocking.
The families in Portage know it’s time Michigan send a champion to Washington!
For weeks the press declared the event a failure before it had even begun.
The low bar they set did the country a quiet favor. It caught a nation off guard.
What spectators felt was the thing we have been longing for in this divided era: a simple and unguarded pleasure, the kind that arrives only when the expectation is low and the moment runs past it.
There are times when a country simply becomes itself again.
It recalled the spring of 1829, when Andrew Jackson threw open the doors of the White House to anyone who cared to walk through them, and the people came by the thousands, muddy and joyful and entirely unbothered by the disapproval of their betters.
It recalled 1976, when a nation bruised by Vietnam and Watergate gathered along its harbors and rivers to decide that, after two hundred years, the experiment was still worth celebrating.
This belonged to that lineage. Big, patriotic, unembarrassed, built not for the political class but for the people who actually run the country.
Pure Americana.
Happy 250, America.
