Campaigner who works to improve public services. Labour activist, Co-operative Party NEC, GMB Branch President & dad who spends too much time watching football
Heading back from @CoopParty conf. Lovely weekend catching up with friends
I introduced our policy papers & had the privilege of listening to the speeches of members. They set out far better than me how we can build a better, community-led Britain with co-operation at its heart
Co-operation is about co-operating with the best of our movement. Therefore, great to have Joanne Thomas, General Secretary of @UsdawUnion as guest speaker early on at @CoopParty Conference. Starting off the right way ahead of a great event.
🗣️ “West Ham at the weekend, that’ll be your 300th game in charge of Arsenal…”
Mikel Arteta: “I didn’t know that, that’s a lot of games for this football club! I feel very honoured & a lot of gratitude for everyone that has allowed me to stay for that long.” [TNT]
It was lovely catching up with friends as we begin the work of national renewal. Building a fairer, more vibrant Britain with public services that truly meet people's needs will take time and real change. Conference was a reminder this is the work of a serious Party of government
Heading back to work after my first @UKLabour conference of a third decade as a Party member. That first conference feels a long, long time ago. So much has changed - and so much is still the same.
We’re a year into government, and in campaigns like Community Right to Buy, the Co-operative Party’s influence is clear.
Thanks to years of work by our movement, co-operative ideas are becoming law, with co-operators like @JimfromOldham helping lead the way. 🎥👇
Excellent news and long overdue. We campaigned for this as Young Labour many years ago and great that it'll be in place for when Jake gets the chance to have his say
Today we’re delivering on our promise to give 16 and 17 year olds the right to vote.
Young people already contribute to society by working, paying taxes and serving in the military. It's only right they can have a say on the issues that affect them.

Great to be in the hall as a @UKLabour Cabinet member addresses a @GMB_union Congress in government for the first time since 2009.
Even better to hear the Chancellor announce £billions of investment in the jobs of the future, inc. investment that will benefit the East Midlands.
Not often that I can combine listening to Radio 4 comedy and the day job. But, this stand-up special with Kiri talking about her journey to foster caring is well worth a listen if you missed it - in-depth, powerful, emotional and ultimately funny.

An honour to chair tonight's call with Jason Stockwood for Co-op Party members.
Jason spoke about the role of co-operation in business and the urgent and radical action of the government to save Scunthorpe steelworks. Fantastic he's flying both the @UKLabour & @CoopParty flags.
Securing our borders.
Putting more cash in your pocket.
Making our streets safer.
Giving better opportunities to our children.
Cheaper energy in your home.
An NHS that is fit for the future.
Labour is bringing change to Britain. Vote Labour on Thursday, 1 May.
Honour to be elected to represent Nottinghamshire on the @EastMidsLabour Regional Executive Committee alongside @leoniemathers. Capping off a great couple of days at Regional Conference amongst friends, colleagues and fantastic speakers.
Fantastic to be out with trade unionists from across the East Midlands this weekend talking about how we are making work pay. Organised by @EastMidsTULO alongside by trade union branch, @GMBMidlandsApex and @GMBMidlands.
Looking forward to Saturday's @LabourNotts Council campaign session, organised in conjunction between @GMBMidlandsApex and @EastMidsTULO. Come join us for some doorknocking and spreading the word on the Make Work Pay campaign @GMBMidlands
We're delighted to share our Make Work Pay campaign day on Saturday 15th February in Broxtowe. Joined by hard working local MP @JOCampbellMP and lots of trade unionists.

Sad day for the Labour movement with the passing of John Prescott, a political titan throughout my formative years in the Party.
I was lucky enough to meet and campaign with John a few times. Here with a few of us are from Nottingham Labour Students at a dinner many years ago🌹
Myself and @CllrMattShannon as President and Secretary of @GMBMidlands Apex General Branch were honoured to be able to show solidarity with school workers in Ukraine by providing funds for equipment 🇬🇧🤝🇺🇦.
Solidarity to Ukrainian school workers from all of us at @GMBMidlands.
In the face of Russian bombs, we’re proud that our region and members from Apex General Branch have been able to help them equip their bunker classroom in Kirovohrad region.
