You never want to have an emergency podcast about a massive injury, but when you are forced to, it helps to have a doctor as your co-host.
@Jamison_350 and I will discuss John Mateer's injury tonight at 7:30 PM CT. See you there.

On JDub's wrist injury: @Jamison_350 (who is a legitimate doctor!) thought it might be the scapholunate ligament. Today's report confirmed it. What does this mean for his return to play?
Full episode available in the post below.
Average return to play for athletes is 4 months, so he will be cutting it close. Thunder tend to be conservative with their return to play protocols, especially for a team that has proven they can win at a high level without their stars.
Check out my opinion on Jalen Williams’ wrist below. I guessed this was likely a schapholunate ligament tear. He will be re-evaluated in 12 weeks, and there is a real shot he misses the beginning of the season based off other athlete’s return to play.

@SteveThunderfan Best bet is to look at Middleton from 2022, as most guys got this earlier in the spring. Middleton missed time to start the season after getting the surgery in July.
Looks like scapholunate- like I guessed on Morning Thunder. I think there is a good chance he could miss the beginning of the season, as return to play usually is longer than the 12 week re-evaluation mark
Thunder PR:
Jalen Williams underwent a successful procedure to address a torn scapholunate ligament in his right wrist, the team announced today. He will be re-evaluated in approximately 12 weeks
Most common wrist ligaments torn in basketball players are the scapholunate ligament and the TFCC complex. Both take 3-6 months to return to play after surgery. With Presti’s confidence that Dub will be ready by October, looks like the medical team is pushing for sooner return
Will we see Thomas Sorber in Summer League?
@Jamison_350 takes a look at his timeline, how other players recover from turf toe, and more on the latest Morning Thunder.
Episode available in the post below. #OKCThunder
Here is a picture for visual people. Another player with turf toe requiring surgery is Darius Garland, who got this surgery 2 weeks ago and projections are 4-5 months until return to play.
Thomas Sorber underwent surgical repair of a turf toe on 2/26. Return to play average is ~3-6 months for this surgery, so this puts him in the gray area to play in the summer league in July, as that will be 4-5 months out from surgery.

Recapping a brutal night in Minneapolis and looking forward to a massive Game 4. #ThunderUp
