@Mathew_Winters1 So cool. This is my second season raising our family's supply of chicken in a system explicitly inspired by what you've shared. Do you find the extra movement leads to slower growth? Peace!
I'd go further; stewarding the Earth is what makes us human.
Maturing into our responsibility as the keystone species is our ultimate task, our measure of progress.
Thousands of years of history and we are still at the beginning of this Becoming.
@DavidWilberBlog Hebrews seems to share some of the views held in Qumran, regarding Melchizedek and, presumably, a skepticism toward temple leadership. I imagine this letter was an effective apologetic for how to get around an illegitimate temple while remaining covenantally faithful.
@mattvanswol Pick up the book "Durable Trades" by Rory Groves and let them start flipping through it for ideas! It's 60+ trades that existed prior to the industrial revolution and still provide a dignified living (bonus points to trades that integrate family life). Likely to continue.
@Exodus15_11@tomthie55en What do you mean by indivisible unit? I see even Moses making a distinction between what was written by the finger of God (tablets, placed inside the ark) and what he himself wrote down, which sits beside it (Deut 31:26).
@tomthie55en@RealDavidReece He also calls it a test when it was first commanded in Exodus 16:4-5, 23-26 (manna narrative, prior to Sinai). "that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not."
Right now, it's just a downloadable PDF with gameplay instructions, tips to make it fun, and 42 quirks to work with.
I have printed two physical card sets and they are great, but kinda pricey.
Just launched a random little game that we've been playing when we host get togethers...it's seriously so dumb/funny, and has the potential to create super weird inside jokes with your friends: https://t.co/kJIgTz0UDv
The initial quirks are inspired by real people I have come across. I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of hilarious personality quirks. Super easy to make up your own!
Yes, it's a vibe-coded website (sorta ugly).
@Joshua_M_Hump@willharris5555 Here's a quote from his marriage book where he says the the third kind of protection a husband is responsible for is "3) physical protection (as from intruders, natural disasters, or disease)."
@themendelbrain It’s interesting to compare, say, the Westminster Catechism (Presbyterian) with the Schleitheim Confession (Anabaptist). The latter reads much more like the Didache - it has much more to do with conduct and practice.
